Biography

Jason Staehler Hill is an American record producer, songwriter, film score composer, mixer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Hill is the lead singer, guitarist and producer for the band Louis XIV. He has worked with such artists as The Killers, Brandon Flowers, David Bowie, Wolfmother, Robbie Williams, Jet, Sky Ferreira, David Fincher (Director of Fight Club, The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), New York Dolls, Ariel Pink, The Virgins, Macy Gray, Richard Butler (The Psychedelic Furs), Neon Trees, Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele (Empire of the Sun), among many others.

 

In 2014, Hill began his career in film with BAFTA and Golden Globe awarded director David Fincher on Gone Girl and as his score composer on HBO’s Videosyncrasy, most recently composing Fincher's Netflix’s Emmy nominated series MINDHUNTER that premiered on October 13, 2017. Hill was also the original music composer on Netflix’s FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (Dir. Chris Smith) released in January 2019, which has become the most watched documentary film ever on Netflix. He is currently the composer on a Netflix Original Series about Henry Lee Lucas with Oscar-nominated and Emmy winning director Robert Kenner (Food, Inc, Merchants of Doubt), the forthcoming Showtime series Couples Therapy and MINDHUNTER Season 2 (Netflix) along with the feature film The Buffalo Hunt (Dir. Phil Di Fiore) all to be released in 2019.

Hill is the owner of Department of Recording and Power, a world-renowned recording and mixing complex in Los Angeles, Ca.
